The more useful data you collect, the better to support or reject your hypothesis.
2/1---2/8 9.1 Quiz 10pts - be sure to reread text and powerpoint --- makeup for 1/2 credit... correct mistakes, find pg# reference and quote something from the text to support the correct answer.

9/5 ---9/8 - Course policy, lab safety, contact lens sheet... review with parents/guardians and return what needs to be returned signed by Friday. 2pts
9/5 --- 9/8 - In - class discussion - 3pts - participate with your tables and the whole class regarding the nature of science.
9/8 --9/8 - In class observation chart 3pts - make detailed observations (quantitative & qualitative) of natural objects outside. (if you're absent, make one at home for homework; turn in next day you are present)

10/5--10/10 - be prepared to use the microscope entirely on your own and explain how to use it to me ... call it a "performance quiz." 10Pts (Have your book, too... we'll be working in Ch 2.)
10/10--10/17 --- Be sure to have copied p. 56's key concepts of Ch 2 (2pts); read through 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 ... focus on 2.1 and 2.2 vocabulary... create some kind of graphic organizer for those key terms (2pts) Quiz on 2.1&2.2 Due Tuesday 10/17 = 6pts --- in the NY version of the text, answer #1, 2, 3, 6 on p.39; 1&2 on 43.
10/13---10/16 ---10pts water tension lab experiment, how many mL of water can you fit in a 25mL graduated cylinder without it spilling?
10/18 - In class investigation. After discussing vocab issues from 2.1, we took a look at a mixture of water, oil,...and then salt and syrup were added as well. Observations and a final identification of solution vs. suspension was made based on observations. 5pts (1 per group) if absence, make up asap after school.
10/19---10/23 - pH lab - 15pts How do various foods differ in pH level?
10/23---10/24 Review section 2.3 Macromolecules, powerpoint and notes from class. Be able to answer section questions on p. 48.
10/24--10/26 - Review section 2.4 Chemical reactions and enzymes. Prepare for 'test' on sections 2.3 and 2.4 Friday or Monday 10pts
